Paesano Italian food Informative - Best Italian food in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- I discovered Paesano's in San Diego on a business trip. My wife came up for a couple of days and we decided to go out for a nice dinner. We couldn't find anything really fancy. This little Italian restaurant caught out attention.

When we walked in there, you could just smell the garlic and marinara sauce cooking in the kitchen. It was just an AMAZING aroma.

We sat down and ordered our drinks. We wanted something new so we ordered San Pellegrino Arancita, a lightly carbonated water with small pieces of orange. It was so good, I've been looking for it everywhere. To my disMay, I haven't found it yet.

For dinner we each ordered lasagna. Let me tell you, this lasagna was amazing. It was by far the best I have ever tasted.

They also had wonderful pizza, bought some one night while we were staying in San Diego a second time. It tasted exactly what you would think authentic Italian pizza would taste like.

For dessert they had what was called Spumoni. This dessert was amazing. It had pistacio Ice cream with grahm cracker crust, other types of Ice cream with whipped cream on top. It was so good that my wife learned how to make it, and we still have it every once in a while.

If you find yourself near the San Diego Navy base, try Paesano's. It is hard to find, but worth the search.

skrewd, San Diego has a number of fine places to chow down, or at least it did when we were there. Jim Croce's son has a restaurant I heard was fantastic. there is a BBQ joint that features live jazz at night. Bodacious. Hungry Hunter has the best Prime Rib I ever put in my mouth. A person could end up weighing 400 pounds in Sandy Eggo.
