Sofa Express Informative - Bad furniture...worse customer service
SPRINGDALE, OHIO -- I special ordered two home theater recliners for my home theater frrom Sofa Express. Salesperson called after they were built. He originally told me it would only take a couple of days after it was built to have it delivered. Well, he wasn't very honest because they couldn't deliver it until two weeks later.
I took a 1/2 day off since they told me it would be delivered between 8:00 a.m. and noon. Called at 1:00 p.m., but no one knew when it would be delivered. Finally, at 2:00 p.m. the truck shows up. Guess my 1/2 day turned into a full day off from work.
The delivery people wouldn't even take the recliners off the truck, they were so badly damaged. There were rips in the leather taround the corners and the back.
Called the store manager. He said he'd send someone to fix the leather. How in the world is he going to do that? Sew it? Yeah, that'll look great. It would have to be totally reupolstered. Even the delivery guys said they'd refuse the recliners. So, I did.
I asked for my money back, but the manager said since it was a special order, there would be a charge of 30% of the total order to refuse delivery.
Called customer service. They said they had nothing to do with my problem...that it was a delivery issue. Called the delivery dept, they said THEIR people would determine whether it was fixable or whether they'd replace it. Still, no refund.
Tried to get a supervisor or officer with the company to talk to them. No one would give me their information.
Guess I'm headed to court with these sheisters.
