Victoria TX Super Wal-Mart Informative - Checkers and personel

Review by whoneeds rude on 2007-08-12
VICTORIA, UTAH -- My daughter and I went into the Wal-Mart in Victoria Tx and had a six week pug puppy. I was informed at the door I couldn't take the puppy in unless it was a seeing eye dog.I understand due to food and health issues. One of the managers told me that I could go to the service desk with the dog to return an item. I then went to get what I needed and this checker came up to me and told me that I couldn't be in the store with the dog. I then informed her that I spoke with the manager and it was okayed. I told my daughter to go set in waiting area with him. The clerk began to argue and threatened to call the health dept, and mouthing about the manager needed to inform them if rules were changed, she got on her little walkie talkie thing and kept running her mouth. When I ask her what her name was she came back with "I don't have a f...damn name." and continued running her mouth and threatened to call security and my daughter and puppy were already out of the store. I informed her that I would go get my boys and she wouldn't have to worry about seeing any more of my money or families money in that store again because there are better, cleaner, and a hell of a lot nicer people in the surrounding wal-mart store that even know where and what I am asking for in their store and I cannot say that that has been the case for this particular store. It wouldn't have made me so mad if wouldn't have just spent over $1,000 for school and food there in the last 2 weeks. The garden center has been the ONLY part of the store that actually knows something about what they offer and if they don't the have gone out of their way to find out on products "Not in my department". I hope that client relations can be a mandatory staff meeting.

The store does save me $$$ but I will drive a extra 30 miles to enjoy and get better service.

The dog is probably cleaner than the store. There is one Wally World in the county where I live and not a sparsely populated county by any means. I think they only really clean the store once every two years. Normally the floor is dirty, the lights are yellowish (the working ones) and the parking lot is like a trash dump.

You were in the wrong and the manager in the wrong. Only seeing eye dogs and dogs that help the disabled are permitted in Wal-mart stores.

mj, exactly right. btw they are called service or therapy dogs.
i don't go to wally world for several reasons, but the poster is barking up the wrong tree.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart either but I have a hard time believing any Wal-Mart employee would say "I don't have a f... damn name."

Do you realize a puppy that young should not be out in public. It's for the dogs health and protection. Do you know should could become infected with the parvo virus, which lives outside, everywhere?? And she could also catch infectious diseases from being in grassy areas where other dogs have been. I know she doesn't have all her shots at that age. Just trying to inform you of the possibilites of what can happen to a precious puppy that young, and it's such a small breed. A lot of people don't realize it's best and safer to introduce a puppy to the world when it's 8 weeks old, and has all it's puppy shots.

Why did you have the dog with you in the first place? It should be (should be) common sense that most stores aren't going to allow people to bring in whatever animals they want when they want.

Dogs are not people. Dogs, no matter how old or young can be left at home. I seriously hate people who treat their dogs like people and assume that because they love their pets, everyone else should to.

Gothic, that was just plain rude. You are a cold, heartless jerk. I know my dog isn't a person, but I love her just like she's family. Go grow a heart, loser.

I don't think Gothic is being rude. They are entitled to their opinion, and not everyone likes animals. I never try to enforce my beliefs regarding animals on anyone.

I think it's insane to bring a puppy to Walmart. Service dogs are one thing, but puppies should be at home, in their crates, while being trained and loved.

Hey ZooVet, I did one of my externships at the zoo!!

First of all, I love dogs, but I have to say that I'm so over all these gals carrying around little dogs like they are some sort of fashion accessory. I live in wa state, where you can bring a small dog into any business so long as they don't sell food, and I can't even walk around a store anymore without seeing at least 10 pooches being packed around. I'm sure they would be much happier just being left at home, and not packed around every major department store in the state!

I see two mistakes made by the store employee's, according to your side of the story...First Mistake was allowing your dog in, even if it was just to the service counter. The second mistake was using the F word...if they really did say it. They should have called the police when you made the threat of going to go get your "boys"...that can only be meant as a threat. I'm sure they won't lose any sleep because you will shop somewhere else. If you want to take puggy shopping, take it to PetSmart where they allow dogs inside. Also, if it makes you so mad that you spent $1,000.00 just two weeks ago...you can always return the items...but just remember to keep your pug at home!

I laughed at this posting. why? because it reminded me of another joke (I am assuming this isn't a true story it is too funny) Two guys walking down the street, one guy wants to get a beer, the other says we have our dogs with us they won't let us in. The first said "Follow my lead!". He walked through the door, the bouncer said "you can't bring a dog in here" The guy said "I am blind he is my service dog!" The bouncer apologized and said go in. The second guy walked in, the bouncer said "you can't bring your dog in here" The guy said "I am blind he is my service dog!" The Bouncer said you have a Chihuahua as a service dog?" The Second guy said "They gave me a Chihuahua?"

Zoo, Gothic wasn't being rude. I love my dog, but he is a dog! He doesn't sit on furniture. he doesn't eat people food. he doesn't go everywhere I go. He doesn't jump on people while I say "isn't he cute?" He is
good company. He is a good reason to take long walks. My dog is a part of the family. His name is Sammy, he is a Jack Russell Terrier and he is a PET! Zoo apologize to Gothic. Your remarks were the rude ones.

Only Seeing Eye and service dogs are allowed in Wallyworld. You violated store policy and health department policy by having a puppy in the store. The manager also did that. Don't be bashing Wallyworld employees because they got on you for violating store policy.

Are you people idiots? So now let me get this straight most of you think it is perfectly okay for a Wal-mart employee to use profanity towards you as long as you have violated a store policy??Let me set you straight I am a mystery shopper and I can tell you that all store employees are expected and required to treat customers with courtesy and respect under all circumstances, If I was this lady I wouldn't stop shopping at Wal-Mart I would see to it that I went above that witches head and got her sorry ass fired! She needs to be a prison guard anyway!

Whoneeds rude, very good review and I think you were in the right. I would never go back to that store either unless I had a tape recorder. I also agree with jade2011 and think if anything you should go back and file a complaint with the nice store manager.

It's just another example of people wanting to control and judge you. If the little puppy was only six weeks old, so what! You were looking out for its safety. These same judgmental people would have called the cops on you if you left the dog in the car. You can't worry about stupid people because they will never be happy no matter what you do. Good luck to you...

I hate people who bring their dogs into stores. There are people in the world who are severely allergic to dogs. I was nice enough one time to let a customer bring her dog in the store and it peed on my floor, and she didn't even offer to clean it up! Our mall (it's outside) still has a no dog policy, but I have been very strict in enforcing it since.

jade2011 (09/14/2007) Jade, Your response poses the question: Are you the idiot? So now let me get this straight You a mystery shopper think that a Wal-mart employee would actually use profanity like whoneedsrude said? I also can tell you that all store employees are expected and required to treat customers with courtesy and respect under all circumstances. Their Job depend on it! That being so...maybe she is lying. And she is the idiot for trying to take her dog into the store in the first place.
