Northwest Airlines Informative - Cancelled flights by Northwest - July 2007 - Flight reservation

Flight reservation
Review by Cindy Clark on 2007-08-13
DETROIT, MICHIGAN -- Northwest's handling of recent flight cancellations leaves a lot to be desired. They cancelled two flights on us from Detroit which caused us to miss our cruise for our honeymooon. They only thing they offered for the cancelled flights was $10 food voucher, $25 off future travel and 1000 bonus miles.

This company can care less what they are doing to their customers. For their executives to give themselves bonuses out of bankruptcy is absolutly ridiculous (causing employees to take these actions) shows they do not care about their employees or customers.

We wrote the company an email and still have not heard a response back from them yet.

Then a week later we see Andrea Fisher Newman on the news stating they are doing everything they can for the inconvience they have caused their customers...........they didn't do anything special for us.........Thanks Northwest for causing us to miss our honeymoon and potential lose $2500.00. We have to write cruise line to have a review to see if we will get credit.

Even though this is the major airline in Detroit, I will not fly with this company again. Them not resolving the issues with their workers and letting this continue is absurd.

Don't travel with Northwest Airlines at the end of the month if you have somewhere to be and have to get there on time.

Not to make an excuse for them but Northwest had major problems last month with flight crews not being available for work. At least they offered compensation which is more than most people on here have gotten. I do feel badly that your honeymoon was messed up but you have many happy years in front of you and hopefully you will get that honeymoon.

It's not just Northwest, all airlines are treating people like crap now. Maybe, just maybe we need regulation again? Good post and best of luck to you as you chase down someone to deal with at Northwest.

the CEO or Pres of NWA recently stated that they made some big mistakes by not listening to the pilot's union and were trying to fix them.
I used to do "day" trips for business, but had to change because of delays. Now, I try to go in the day before and leave the day after. Helps some, but not always

jkts, it is to bad that you ahve to spend the extra money on hotels becasue airlines aren't doing their jobs. It seems that we should be happy if the airlines get us to the destination we have paid good money for. Their attitiude is buy the tickets and we will do the best we can to get you there, it may not be on the day you want but we will get you there, but we can't guarantee your luggage will get there.
