Hotwire.com Complaint - Warning To those Who Buy Flights from HotWire
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -- Tonight I ordered two tickets from Hotwire. This is a company I'd always used to buy airline tickets from. I had some computer issues as I was ordering these tickets; my vision also isn't the greatest; anyway a Mistake was made and I realized it later when My kids came in and asked me why I was staying in Connecticut for a month. Apparently when I got kicked off Hotwire and went back to redo it, I hit the wrong month. Yes it was my fault I know that.
I immediately called Hotwire. After a 30 minute wait to speak with a live person, I told the lady what had happened. She informed me that there would be a fee of $170.00 to exchange the tickets. I thought $50.00 each ticket but that wasn't the case. I told her the dates I wanted to fly and to correct my mistake. She told me I had to wait 72 hours for someone to call me back and at that time I would pay whatever the ticket price was plus the fees. So if in 3 days the prices go up, I am once again screwed .
I am the Customer Service Business and honestly I would never treat a customer like I was treated tonight. I have used Hotwire for 5 yrs and have booked more than 15 trips with them.
This will be the last one I ever book with them again. Just be warned that if you make a mistake with this company; you will pay for it and then some.
