DND Marine Construction Complaint - Work Never Performed, Want Refund

Review by Sharon M on 2007-08-14
Resolution Update on 03/15/2008:
We took Samuel Dewitt to court. We received our money back.
SEVERNA PARK, MARYLAND -- Samuel Dewitt owner of DND Marine Construction cashed our check for $1,400.00 and never performed the pier work that he promised to do. After numerous phone calls...being told that the check to reimburse us ($1400.00) will be sent on the 1st of August and than after we did not receive the check we were told that the accountant will be sending the check a few days later. We have never received our money back. After checking out Mr. Dewitt's criminal background I was not surprised that he has been in court numerous times for failure to do contract work.

Beware of this company......you have been warned!!

Immediately get a copy of the cancelled check, go to your DA's office and file a criminal complaint against this guy. Take your contract, too. Also, contact your city/county licensing office and file a complaint. Write to your city councilperson with copies of everything. Business permits and licenses can be revoked. Good luck.

DnD Marine actually did the work for us. They did a good job too. It took them 4 months to do about 2 weeks worth of work, and now they wont leave! Theiir rig and equipment has ben there for a month past the completion. They keep saying they will move it tomorrow. If you want to put a Lein on the equipment...I know where it is!!

Dave S. did you get a written contract from DND Marine? If so is there a license number on it? We are going to file a complaint this week with the DA's office. We did not have a written contract. I would love to get his license revoked if he does not pay us back. If you would rather email me directly at sharoncyber@yahoo.com please feel free to. Thanks.
