Pines of Northwest Crossing- Houston, Texas Complaint - Trashy-Low Grade Apartments

Review by tiff392002 on 2007-08-15
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- These people are only in for taking your rent money, they don't fix anything.. I have a leaky roof and busted pipe under the the floors since March, and my problem still goes unresolved.

I'm in the process of exposing them, they won't get away. Don't move here.. you'd do better going to a homeless shelter. Then they have the nerve to have a rude leasing staff. Hell no.

Did you call the Board of Health?

Go to the County Property Tax web site and look up the owners. Write them a Certified letter outlying your problems. They might respond but you need to be prepared to move. Also, if I remember correctly, according to Texas law, you can notify the manager IN WRITING of the defects in the apartment. If she/he does not repair them within a specified time frame (roof and pipe- say 1 week?) you can have the repairs done on your own and deduct the charges from the rent. However, the charges must be done by a qualified repairman and ONLY with ADVANCE written notice. This is in the Texas statutes and you should be able to pull it up on the web. Best of luck. (I hate incompetant apartment managers. Is she certified?)

Pines at Northwest Crossing is a horrible place to live. They do not keep up with maintanence, there is never hot water, there is mold, the security lights do not work, and the staff is oblivious to how to make things work for their residents. DO NOT MOVE HERE! They will offer you a good deal, no doubt, but BEWARE!

Moneybags is right. Don't know about where you are at, but in some jurisdictions the renter can hold payment of rent until the problems are fixed.

I used to live at this complex, and it was full of nothing but problems. It had the worst roach infestation I have ever seen, they ignore requests for maintenance (even ones you make someone from the management sign, even the ones you send certified mail). When you ask about their corporate office, they lie to your face and say they don't have one. They also deny they have a property manager. I am not an idiot and knew that was not true, so I did some research on my own and found out all the information. The property manager was Yesenia Martinez (hopefully she has been fired by now).

This is the corporate information:
Pacific Allied Access Management
You need to speak with Immanual park
They are based in California
Their phone number is 213 383 7464

Immanual didn't believe my complaints, and I actually had to meet with a lawyer who showed me that the apartment had broken several laws in the Texas Property Code and due to that I was able to break my lease since they breached their contract with me. After I moved out, the complex filed a mark on my credit (which I am still fighting) claiming that I "destroyed" their countertops which is a total fabrication. I have pictures of every room in that apartment the day I moved out, because I KNEW they would pull something like that. The management is not to be trusted. Do NOT move there, regardless of how cheap the rent is, it is not worth the heart ache.

They will paint over mold, the crime is bad, the hot water never works, they never mow the grass, the management has filthy attitudes, and they will also try to tell you that you never paid rent - even though I have bank statements where it SHOWS my rent checks were deposited, and I had my carbon copies of my checks. I recommend if you do live there, to keep track of EVERYTHING you do. every tiny thing.

email me if you would like to talk about your experience. I would actually love to see this complex shiut down. I filed complaints with the Houston Apartment Association, and the Better Business Bureau. I suggest you do the same. I also tried to find a health or building inspection to give official word that my unit was unfit for healthy living, but could never find one...

email me at ellen@ellenzilla.com if anyone wants to..
