Bidz.com Informative - Truth and everything you need to know of Bidz.com - Jewelry auction

Jewelry auction
Review by thetruth55 on 2007-08-15
Bidz does not have open auctions. there product and price is protected so the jewelry does not sell below their cost. sometimes they do but the company has dummy accounts that places autobids to protect the price. bidz can be very untruthful. If something does sell for a price that is far below cost, they will not sell you the product and refund your money. With some type of excuse of product is damaged or inventory error stock not available. Don't be fooled with the compare price, that number is fraud. not even close to what an true value to the product can be, they are honest when it comes to retail value when listed on some high end items. Don't be fooled with their return policy, its a joke and so is the man that calls himself the "return manager (which i didn't believe to be true)" If you know your return was wrongfully processed and refunded back to you in unfairness, call your credit card company for Chargeback. Your credit card company will protect you.

The company is not all bad and you can get great products from them, as long as you follow their hidden guidelines

Why would anyone subject themselves to this?

The post starts about their shady business practices yet ends with almost a compliment. The last sentence in the second paragraph is confusing - "wrongfully processed return ... refunded back to you in unfairness ... call your credit card company for a chargeback". If they refunded the money why would you need a chargeback? I'm confuzzed.

Customer service at this company is deplorable. Not only do they treat customers with total disdain, they also do not supply goods if you win them too cheaply. The most they offer is a refund if not as described so all they have to do is send the wrong item and if it was won cheaply all you get back is your money and a lot of inconvenience. Also if you keep complaining they get really nasty and try to discredit you with other readers. If you complain to somewhere like the BBB they make out like they are going to help you then don't follow through once the complaint is closed.

We would like to take the time and apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused.

We would also like to clarify some information that has been misinterpreted.
Bidz.com does have open auctions. Just how we can make good profit from some items, we can loose money as well. We take a great risk by holding the auctions, but for most part we gain the money that was invested into purchasing the items.
The only reason why a customer would be refunded any funds would be if for some reason we had a discrepancy in our inventory but that is something rare.

The compare price is not a bogus number made up by the company. he Compare Price is the maximum price other jewelers advertise online, for similar or the same jewelry item. This price in no way reflects worth or suggested retail price.
Customers may return an item for any given reason, but we do have policies in place just like any other company. For example, Best Buy and Circuit city have restocking fee's as well. We are not the only company that has this policy in place. Every return is handled in a case by case manner. Not all customers are subject to a restocking fee.
We highly recommend that customers do not file a credit card chargeback, that automatically deactivates the account with Bidz.com. We recommend that the customer reads our terms and conditions and tries to resolve the issue with Bidz.com

Thank you for your time and patience,
