McDonald's Corporation Complaint - Service Complaint
WEST VALLEY-WALMART, UTAH -- Stopped at the West Valley McDonalds in Walmart at 11:30 at night. Stood at the counter for over 10 minutes waiting for a clerk to take my order. One came to the register then grabbed a receipt and left without saying a word. Several minutes later another clerk who had been working at the Ice Cream machine finally came to the front. I explained my concern for the length of time that I had been waiting and asked to speak with the on duty manager. As I was waiting I watched as several of the employees were in the back talking about personal issues. The on duty supervisor complained to the original clerk about talking to me about my concerns. When Karen finally arrived she was informed that no one had taken my order and the length of time that I had been waiting. She made excuses about problems with the cook and then printed a receipt for the previous customer and stated that my order would be here in a few minutes. I again explained that my order had not been taken and three more times she tried to sell me on the idea that the receipt that she had given me was my order.
I then explained that the customer service was less than adequate, whereupon she stated that she was off shift at 11:00 and it was not her problem. She had no customer service skills and could not comprehend that the order was not taken yet, made no effort to apologize or correct the situation. When asking for the number for corporate McDonalds, none of the employees could provide it. Several indicated that they did not speak English and referred it back to Karen who only spoke minimal English. When leaving the store and locating the number for myself, I contacted Corporate and provided the details of the problem. They indicated that a representative would contact me in 5 days. After waiting 8 and no response, I again called at which time customer service stated that they do not make those kind of promises.
There is no accountability for a franchise of this type of nature and I would strongly suggest that if you want customer service, that you patronize someone other than this business or McDonalds who offer promises on the phone and then do not follow through.
