Fry's Complaint - Fry's Ripoff Return Policy!

Review by Pisto on 2007-08-17
I bought a microwave, panasonic NN-T655SF, serial#6A36110019, from
Fry's electronic a few months ago, but I never open the box until now
and it never work. That is, it does not warm or cook the food. I bought
the microwave from Fry's Electronic, or the place, where I bought it,
Fry's electronic #7 10800 Kalama River Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708,
shipped from Panasonic North America, 1600 Central Lane, Roselle, IL
60172. However, I misplaced my receipt so they would not do anything,
replace nor refund this product. I talked to Najah, stirred and
apathy look and say no, final word. After calling the 1-408-487-4500,
and talking to Kim #408407, did not get a reply nor resolution. Then the
store manager came out, his name was Everett Martinez. He did some
research on the product and said he would not do anything about it. I
brought up about bringing a lawsuit to Fry's and he has no word for me!

Do something about it. Basically they sold me a "lemon" item. Did it
ever say sale is final? No. I would like a replacement, fix it, refund,
or voucher, because basically I got ripped off from Fry's Electronic!

You never opened it, and you didn't save the receipt?? You don't really believe you are entitled to anything do you?

No Lemon laws on appliances. Nowhere in the U.S. is there a lemon law for appliances. Only for brand new vehicles.

If you are going to purchase an appliance then let it sit for months before opening it, tape the receipt to the box. No place is going to do anything when you bring in something that you claim you bought there, but have no receipt. It is not a rip-off policy, it is the store protecting itself. For years and years, many stores had liberal return policies, and got ripped off seven ways from Sunday. Put yourself in their place. Hey, I bought this TV here about 6 months ago, and when we got it home, we had no place to put it, so it has been in our garage. I finally took it in the house, and it won't work. No, it has been out in the garage all this time. Maybe that hole is where a mouse got in, I'm not sure. Water damage on the box? Is that what that is? Receipt? We looked all over for it and can't find it. Of course we bought it here, the salesman'sname was Fred, or George. I want a refund, because it doesn't work. I told you, I don't have a receipt, but I bought it here, I tell you. What would you do?

This is the customer's fault. Lack of use, for months probably outside of return policy, and no reciept, how could you expect them to do anything?

Try complaining to Panasonic to see if they will fix it, but they'll probably charge you, depending on the product warranty.
