DHL Complaint - Oh My! Horrible All Around
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- So I ordered some Wii games from Dell for my little sister. Dell was awesome, shipped them the day after I ordered. DHL was not so great. I have never had good experiences with DHL, this one just pushed me over the edge. I was using the Dell Tracking site linked to DHL and noticed it was set to be delievered 8/15. I was off work that day and excited to get the new games. As the afternoon drug on I was getting antsy because I had stuff to do and based on my previous experiences w/ DHL didn't want to have to deal with them longer than neccessary. I logged back into tracking and noticed it said that the order was not delieved because "consignee area was closed will try next business day" whatever that means. I assumed it was just the entrance into the building was locked and he had somehow managed to miss the apartment intercom? Who knows. I went to see if there was slip on the door so I could sign it, they could leave it, and I'd be done with it. There wasn't any indication they had been there. So the next day begins. I decide I'm not going to waste two days and call in to DHL around 11 am. The woman who answers takes my information and tells me that the delivery was unable to be made because the driver had no idea what apartment number I was in. Gee, I'm glad I called. Because God knows how many days it would have taken to get that straightened out, no slip and consignee area closed are a real good indicator they have no idea where they are taking the package right? so I give her all the info, my cell phone number, etc and she tells me it will be out that afternoon. So 4 pm rolls around and I get a call from DHL telling me my information has been processed and it will now arrive the next business day. The 17th. The lady was very rude with her answer when I politely asked why the lady told me this morning that I would have it that afternoon and now she is saying the next day. She got all snippy and told me it was because he was delivering OTHER people's packages and mine isn't the only one in the world.. well ok then I never said it was... So three calls and three very rude and incapable reps later I just arranged for a pick up since my sister's birthday was days away. The building itself was very confusing and not labeled at all customer entrance and the lady threw the package at me across the counter. Lovely. I will NEVER use DHL by choice. Ever.
