Delta Airlines Complaint - Delta It The WORST!!!!!
JFK, NEW YORK -- I have never had a bad flying experience until this past month. Two of my four flights with Delta the week of 8/6/07 were grossly delayed (3 and 4 hour delays)! The flight coming into JFK was late by 4 hours and we had missed our Delta connecting flight to RI by 10 minutes. Ten lousy minutes....half of the airplane had passengers who missed connecting flights by less than 10 minutes. This was at 9:45 pm, they couldn't have even called ahead and at least try and hold the flights. The flight was delayed leaving Las Vegas by four hours due to weather in NY. I noticed two other airlines left at the same time we were suppose to leave and headed to the same exact airport. Customer service at JFK was horrible (they allowed people to cut lines and there were only two customer service reps for a line that contained about 20 people), we had to spend the night at the JFK terminal, which by the way is a disgrace especially being an international airport - it was dirty, the restrooms were disgusting, the janitors just walked around and just stared at everyone (which explains why the place is dirty - they don't do their job!), nothing was open for any food, it was freezing cold and I was afraid to fall asleep - I didn't exactly feel safe there. I arrived at TF Green the next day only to find out my luggage didn't. The customer service rep inside the TF Green Delta baggage claim office was the WORST person I have ever dealt with in my entire life. She was extremely rude and continuously snapped at me. Every response I provided to her question was met with a sign, rolled eyes or some barely audible comment. One of my two pieces of luggage arrived the next day and I noticed it was broken into and items were stolen from my luggage (the lock was ripped right off....it was a TSA approved lock and the luggage didn't contain a TSA sticker, so I know it wasn't inspected for safety reason.) I still do not have my second piece of luggage and I wouldn't be surprised that all this happened at JFK. I'm so angry with the customer service Delta provided and the lack of accountability that I decided to file my lost luggage claim with my home owners insurance.
That was settle in a matter of a half hour phone call and I actually got full price for all my items and they covered my lost / stolen camera which Delta would have not done! I know for a fact that I'll never fly Delta again and I'll avoid JFK no matter what the cost will be.
