Spirit Airlines Complaint - Standed by Spirit - Cancelled Flight
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA -- I flew from Los Angeles to Guatemala City on July 19th for ten days. The return flight was cancelled by Spirit Airline due they say to a storm. Both Taca and United continued to fly. 144 passengers were stranded. Spirit offered and did nothing. They did not put on any extra flight rather scheduled passengers on open seats as available on the two regular scheduled flights out of Guatemala City based on first booked first seat. Since these flights were flying pretty full only ten to 15 people could get out each day. I got a seat 3 days later August 1st. My friend 5 days later Aug 3th. People were scheduled till Aug 15th. Stranded overseas for 15 extra unplanned days all at your full expense. No other airline would accept Spirit tickets. When passengers got vocal at the airport because of this treatment Spirit call the police on them. Although there was a rain storm when they cancelled the flight "Spirit" made sure we got the full spirit of their airline since they left all the luggage on the ramp uncovered and it all got soaked.
I also complained to the station manager about this blatant disregard for passengers property and he said that is why we sell insurance.
