Symantic /Norton Internet Security Service Informative - Refusal of Service for Paid For Security Service
Was happily using my Norton/Symantic Security that I have had for some time. Received an online notice that a problem in the security service had been detected and I should follow online instructions to clear up the problem. I followed the instructions to a T, was notified on line that the problem resolution had been completed. Re-started my computer as instructed and discovered that I no longer was associated with Norton, Symantic or any of their services.
I had one shortcut icon on my desk top which I accessed and it instructed me to take certain actions to communicate with Syamntec for service. I then got plugged into the greatest merry go round of instructions that led to no help - kept me from communicating with anyone at Norton/Symantec at all. (I did reach ???? someone at an e-mail address who assured that the instructions Provided with the message would solve my problem - guess what- The instructions plugged me right back into the merry go round.
Service is non-existent with this company and I will aggressively spread the word of their ongoing resistance to provide customer care/service, especially since they have developed a fool proof method of rejecting service requests. I wonder if there is actually someone there with service knowledge and expertise - I'm afraid it is probably just a group of sales personnel in an empty loft somewhere, staffed by phone answerers who get a by-sale-commission to market the product.
BEWARE OF SYMANTEC - THEY HAVE NO PRODUCT SERVICE.
