Target Complaint - Target-Buyer Beware-New Return Policy:Receipts are not enough
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- I purchased a kid's Spiderman backpack on August 21st. My son was super excited and when we got home filled it with school supplies. (2 folders and some pencils.) Within minutes the zipper and water bottle carrier broke. I was not worried I still had the receipt. I went back to the store to return it on August 22 and was told I could not. I was in shock. I had a paper receipt and it had not even been a day. They told me the new policy requires tags to be still on. Who is going to keep tags for their 90 day policy? I could not believe it. I called their customer service line and they were just as restrictive and rude. I plan to sell my Target stock as this is ridiculous and I expect a backlash. I also am contacting analysts that cover the stock. I think they would be interested. I went to school with some of these guys and they want to know the word on the street. Yes it saves money in the short run but more folks are getting annoyed.
Someone asked where my tags were if it broke in minutes. My boy removed them immediately and put them in the trash. It did not occur to me to dig through the trash. I had a receipt.
