Fedex Complaint - Fedex Ground horror story - Fedex Ground

Complaint
Review by Consumer on 00--
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA -- This complaint is for Fedex Ground which is separate (and far inferiour as you will see)
operation than Fedex Express. Basically in the heart of all my problems with them is how they organized -
or rather disorganized. Their drivers are contractors who are independent enough so as make their service sloppy,
and undependable; Furthermore their customer service simply sucks.
They have been delivering package to me for nine days now and counting and missed several
pickup attempts with no explanation or refund given. Also the same people have missed two pick-ups in a row - just did not show up with
no explanation given. Be wary of these people - specifically their Alexandria Va location; Managers Ray Smith and Lamont Hinton

Here's is my prediction on the fate of Fedex ground - it will die off which is what will happen if they keep it up.
They wasted my time - a lot of it.

In the future, I won't ever do business with them
Also, I definitely will not recommend Fedex to others.

hate to burst your bubble, but fedex ground is growing at an enormous rate. There putting a huge dent in ups' ground service. There in the process of building a multi billion dollar hub in Florida to handle the load. As far as complaints go, all small package delivery companies have them. I have built a great relationship with the fedex ground driver, one of the main reasons i quit using ups.

I hate to burst YOUR bubble but growth does not give any company an excuse to mistreat their customers. I have been working with Fed Ex off and on for 4 years to ship and deliver for my company. I have had so many problems and they can be so rude and uncaring. I know someone who works at Fed Ex and constantly tells me about how crappy they treat their employees. You have had good experiences - good for you. But myself, and half of my office has had complaints upon complaints. So - you just stay in your nice and unbursted bubble with them. Truth is, a company should continually be aware of the good and bad experiences of their customers.

FedEx ground is no different here in NY, my package arrived at a Woodbridge NJ facility, then sent to Newark NJ facility only to be returned to Woodbridge. Then, once in NY, they marked the package as Customer not home, in which I had a FedEx Express neighbor with me all evening as my witness, It doesnt stop there, once again, the next evening, still no package but they now marked it as Future delivery requested, well, it wasnt requested by me. To top it all off, it is now day 6 of a 3-5 day delivery, package loaded onto the truck as of 3am this morning, now the estimated delivery date changed again to tomorrow, bringing it to day 7... I vow never to use FedEx ground again... never had a problem with Fedex express tho'... FedEx ground SUCKS big time!!!!!!!

They are just horrible - especially with deliveries - I have wasted a few days just waiting for a delivery that finally came the 4th day - and this after multiple phone calls and complaints. Will never, never do bussiness with them.

After our latest battle with FedEx, I will have to say that your review was too nice!!! I would understand this happening once, but it has happened seven times now!! The latest goes like this, I needed the package to continue doing business, we are a tattoo studio and the package they kept hostage was gloves! It was shown to be delivered on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went, no gloves. On Wednesday, when I got to the studio, right next to our business hours (1 to 10 p.m.) was a "Sorry we missed you" slip with a time of 10:15 a.m. I called the local FedEx office at 1 p.m. and was assured that the package would be delivered shortly. Four hours later, I'm back on the phone with FedEx, in which I get transferred 3 different times, and then get hung up on. I called back and was told that the local office was trying to reach me, and to please leave my line open. I got off the phone, it rang, I answered, and was hung up on in the first 30 seconds. I waited another 10 minutes, called back and was told that the only time they can deliver in our city is between 10 and 11 a.m. I knew this to be wrong as I have seen the FedEx drivers at a local coffee/truck stop on a daily basis throughout the day. I told Janet at Amarillo this, and was told that I could always drive the 100 mile round trip to pick up my package. (She was serious). Then I was told that I needed to either be at our business at the time the driver would be here, to rearrange my schedule, or to find someone that would accept my package for me. My husband then spoke to the terminal manager in Amarillo, Robert Snyder (sp?), and was told that unless we were at the studio at 10 a.m. on Thursday, we were out of luck. He explained to him that the package was promised that afternoon, and wasn't to be seen anywhere. Robert told him that if the package was that essential to the business, we should shut down for the evening and re-open the next day. Yes, you read that right, Mr. Snyder told us to shut down and lose money due to their mess-up. Next step was higher management, Gail Harris, based in Ohio (not sure what Ohio has to do with Texas, but anyway.....). We were told by her that again, we were essentially out of luck, that at 1 p.m. we never should have been told they would try to redeliver that day. I need to mention in here that the slip that was left on our door did not contain a tracking number, so that with each phone call, we had to go through a big process to even get them to see that yes, we really did have a package coming. After getting off the phone with Ms. Harris, we had been given another # to call and complain, and ended up with a voice mailbox. We left our name and number, and never heard back from them. I also filed a complaint online and have yet to hear anything. Today is Thursday, and it is now 2 p.m. When we left the studio last night, we left a HUGE 2 foot by 3 foot note to the FedEx driver telling him to deliver to our home Thursday morning. The delivery never made it to our house, and yes, there was someone there the whole time. Upon arriving at the studio, we again called the Amarillo office, and were told by DJ that the package was to be delivered around 1 p.m. by a different driver that would still be in our area at that time. (Amazing, I thought they didn't have one here then??) DJ called us back 30 minutes ago and told us that it would be 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. before the package is delivered. So, the wait is on, yet again. This wouldn't be so bad, except as I said earlier, this happens to us ALL THE TIME. On average, it takes us three or four days of run around to get a guaranteed delivery. I will NEVER use FedEx again. I have contacted our supplier and he has agreed to start using UPS to ship our packages, and can't believe how bad this has been. He even contacted FedEx for us, no results.

I would have to agree. In my experiences with FEDEX Ground 3 out of the 5 shipments were 2-3 days late one even showing a expected delivery on a Sunday! which showed up on the following Wednesday.

Interesting that i ran into this page. I've been having the worst experience with fedex ground. Waiting anxiously as fedex time after time claimed they couldn't find the recipient, i too got in touch with the rude customer service. Trying to stay calm as I've been in the CS business, i actually became the one getting attacked. what kind of world is this, when you give them the buzz # and tell them they can also leave it with the superintendent and 4 times they manage to not find anyone... two of these days i specifically stayed home for this reason. As a first time ground user, I've come to truly hate fedex. Thank you for ruining my experience.

Fedex Ground absolutely sucks. In Chattaroy, WA. here is the tpical senario. Order merchandise, get a tracking number and wait for nondelivery. Call Fx Ground days later to get the excuses -- too few packages going that way, too rainy, too Tuesday, too Wendsday, Too Thursday, Too Friday, too lazy, now we'll have to wait till next week. The customer noservice agent cant/wont give out the local number, or call back with a status. When you Fx ground losers are unemployed, look in the mirror for the cause. When ordering online / by phone, I always check to see who the merchant uses for shipping, if they use Fx ground, I refuse to buy there. This time I forgot to ask, so this latest frustration is partly my fault. This is a typical story from others around here also. Oh yea, did I mention that Fedex ground sucks.

Ordered high-end DLP projector... tracked and indicated "delivered". Opened case (projector insured for $5K)... got escalated. Seller was going to ship new projector when original shipment was"found". Picked up package to find it already opened and used. Turns out FedEx employee took it home and used it for 3 weeks before getting busted and fired. Apparently was inviting fellow employees over to his house to show off his new projector when one finally turned him in. Idiot got fired, still, totally weak sauce! Guy should have gone to jail IMHO.

I'm sorry for all the crappy drivers and customer service reps you deal with. I guess I'm one of the few drivers that takes pride in my customer service. I deliver to a tattoo shop on my route that doesn't open til 3 pm and my route runs me thru there by 9 am. I leave them my personal cell phone number to notify me if they have a package coming in, so when the next day rolls around I'll deliver it on the end of my route. If a package comes in torn or damaged I tell the customer and ask them to open the package and check the contents before I leave to make sure they aren't broken or damaged. Most of the damage happens in the warehouse or on the tractor trailers we are just the face of the operation so we catch the crap end of the stick and have to wince and bare the cussing because of it. We also get paid per package delivered, so the morons not delivering a package because they are too lazy apparently don't realize they are not getting paid for that. I do my best to keep my customers happy and know most on a first name basis, but most of our reputation rests on the character of drivers, and sadly sometimes its entrusted in the hands of some of the most moronic people I wouldn't put behind the wheel of a sewer truck. Sorry you all ah such a bad experience but it doesn't reflect the views of all of us drivers.

I agree 100% as an employee working for FedEx Ground in the state of IL. I've never seen nothing like it where these so called wannabe managers don't carry themselves in a professional manner, they don't communicate with other supervisors like they should and they are as less concern about their employees. As employees working for any company we are the main ones keeping the company alive and gainging business. I'm the type of person that does not need recognition from anybody because I can congradulate my own self. But the principle of the matter is lets be equal to all employees, I believe that all these managers need alot more extra training on how to conduct themselves as managers. In this day and age, I'd rather work for my own self, that way I know it won't be no mess with me. I don't encourage no one to go to work for any FedEx, especially FedEx Ground in IL, the people that run the place are terrible. You might as well be working for McDonalds. To work in a factory is not my cup of tea, and the work load volume that you get in their is rediculus and the managers do not send you help, you have to ask can you get some help. Like I said they work you too hard for that little bit of chump change that you collect every week, if you want to call that a "PayCheck." To me it's not worth it!
