Super 8 motel Complaint - Bad attitude from management - noisy room/no refund

noisy room/no refund - Complaint
Review by batmobile on 2007-08-24
MARTINSVILLE, INDIANA -- Martinsville, in. Super 8 motel. 55 bill road.
room 205.

When we got to the room and settled down the walls started shaking. The headboard stared shaking. We could hear the office down below doing things. It turned out that room 205 was right above the office. No biggie, I'll just go talk to the desk clerk. Turns out the desk clerk was also the manager. With a bad attitude. It was 11 pm. I told abduhl that I wanted a partial refund. He laughed and said. I give you a whole refund, you leave and go across the street. If you don't leave I'll call the police." Astonished I told him it was a noisy room. He kept threatening me with arrest.

I made a complaint to customer service the next day. Waste of time. I demand a full refund because of Abduhl's lousy attitude. They're still refusing. I'll get my money one way or another. [mod removed comment]

"Walls started shaking and the headboard started shaking"... Super 8 motel must be the "no tell" motel!

MRM we think an awful lot alike.

jktshff1 - sucker 8... Awesome (LOL).

steve - Yeah I agree and I also think there's a hint of racism in this review.

I don't find this to be a quality review therefore I'm gonna have to vote it 'Not Helpful'.

Oh, come on. If you pay for a room and then can't sleep because of the noise, doesn't anyone think a refund (at least partial) is due? As for me, I would have taken him up on the refund and left. Who needs the aggravation. Actually, I wouldn't have chosen a Sucker 8, but sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do.

A Marriott gave me a room next to the elevator once. Went back to the desk and complained, they said they were sorry but the hotel was full and those are the last rooms they fill. They asked me to stay in the room if they gave me triple rewards points. Took the points and just sucked it up.

If that happened to me, I would just leave…

There is another hotel across the street.

Anytime that you deal with an abduhl or any of their relatives they smile while your putting money in their hands. But anything else and they will fight to the bitter end before they return any or give what you paid for. U.S. laws don't seem to apply to them. Alot like the illegals crossing our borders. Example one motel owner from India wouldn't let their employees order beef on their pizza because they worship cows.

I would order a big steak and eat it next time if I had a manager tell me I could not eat something!

Did you follow up with customer service. Super 8 can only recieve 3 complaints per motel. If you coplaint had not been addressed you must call back to the super 8 customer care line. They will look up your complaint and if the motel in question has not responded they do get fined. And the super 8 corporate office will then address your complaint themselves. But first you must let them know that the motel in question did not comply with the proper action in addressing your complaint. I know this for a fact for 2 reasons. I had a complaint that once i called I heard nothing from the motel, So I called the customer care line again and told them. I got half of my money refunded. The second reason is i have worked for Super 8 for 5 years.

I've been trying to get a partial refund from corporate for 2 months. They act like it's my fault that their Niagara Falls motel has poor management. I guess they don't need repeat business, because I'll go get a room at the YMCA or the nearest homeless shelter before I'll go to not so Super 8 again...

I reserved rooms in lacrosse, wisc. for my relatives from out of town on sat. june 8th. i had a 3 in 1 party for my 60th b.d., retirement, and my husband and my 25th anniversary. during the party i found out my niece was sick so her husband said he couldn't stay overnite so i called around 2:00 and cancelled the room. they said no problem. then later that nite my nephew and wife had to leave because her father passed away and they also had a room. later that nite i had 2 great nephews who decided to stay and called at midnite to get a room. their mother told them they were with the same party as them and they ended with a 1 bed room, i had all 2 beds room reserved. the next day they told me i owed for 2 no show. she said to cancel the one in the afternoon i needed the cancelation # which i didn't have since it was the middle of my party when i called and i didn't get a # at that time. the other room should have went to my 2 great nephews and didn't. i was not even around when their mother called for a room for them. i had no control that my nieces father was going to pass away to begin with and to me that is an emergency that shouldn't count againest me and that room. if this is how u do business then when we have another party i will take my business else where.
