Delta Airlines Complaint - Lost Luggage/Bad Customer Service
DALLAS, TEXAS -- Eleven months ago my sister and I checked in at DFW to board a Delta flight to Rome. What we did was to enter the twilight zone. We got to Rome, our luggage didn't. The line at the Delta lost luggage desk in Rome was 2 blocks long. We looked around at the other airlines lost luggage desk and none of them had over one or two people filing lost luggage claims. This told us plenty about Deltas handling of luggage. The man at the counter said they would deliver our luggage to our hotel the next day. They didn't and we still haven't seen our luggage. We were in Italy 7 days with no luggage. At the time no liquid was allowed to be carried on and my medication was in my lost bag. We called the Delta desk several times a day only to get a recording and emailed only to get electronic responses. We were desperate and begging Delta for help. Never any response. Our entire trip was ruined, but wow, after we got home and went thru red tape like you wouldn't believe, Delta issued us each a 250.00 Travel voucher. What a joke!
Back in the states every time we would call to check on our lost luggage the Delta rep would tell us our claim had been closed then we would have to go thru more red tape to open it. It was our first time in Italy and we probably won't ever get to go again, but Delta doesn't care. They think all our lost trip was worth was a 250.00 Travel voucher which is only good for one year.
