Dish Network Complaint - Tv Signal And Service
Resolution Update on 10/09/2007:
I contacted the BBB in Denver and everything was resolved. They let me out of my contract and refunded the service fee. Thank You BBB.
EDWARDSVILLE, ILLINOIS -- I have had Dish TV for a few months now and it has never worked properly. Service has been here three times in the last six months and they can't fix it. The local channels fade in and out ( pixilate ) and the movie channels have a fuzzy picture even in HD. The last time he was here he finally said he can't fix it and he called his manager to tell him he couldn't fix it and his manager asked to talk to me. And guess what he told me the problem is? Are you ready for this?
He said the satellite 118.7 is off it's axis and there is nothing they can do until NASA goes up there to straighten it out. I didn't think I looked or sounded that stupid, but I guess I did.
Anyway, even if the satellite 118.7 is off it's axis why doesn't the other channels come in clearer since they're on another satellite? He gets a good signal at the dish, but a bad signal at the TV. He has replaced the LNB at the dish and the receiver in the house to no avail, so the only thing left is the wires and the switch which he refuses to replace for some reason. I'm stuck until March '08 or I have to pay an early cancellation fee even though I'm not getting what I pay for. I thought Cable TV was bad, Dish could take a couple lessons from them. If you are considering Satellite TV do yourself a favor and save the anguish and stress and stay away from Dish TV. The customer service is terrible, the service is terrible, and they keep raising prices. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.
In March '08 I get to call and have them come and get their stuff out of my house and off my roof.
An update!!! Aug. 28. Now they are trying to charge me $49.00 service charge to tell me the satellite is askew, that takes the cake. I have never seen such unorganization in a company. It is pitiful.
