VIP Auto Transport, INC Complaint - VIP Auto Transport has hidden costs and gives unsatisfactory service.
We recently moved from California to Massachusetts and chose to ship one of our cars with VIP while driving the other across country. We urge anyone looking to ship a car to read up on VIP and to select another company, even if the quote they give you is slightly higher. Here's why:
1. Our car was scheduled to be picked up on Friday July 20. The mover did not arrive until Wednesday, July 25th. We had already left California on Sunday to drive across the country with our other car and it was extremely inconvenient (aka no cell service in the Badlands)to have to pull over in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming to communicate the whereabouts of the key to the driver.
2. Our car was supposed to be delivered to 11 School Street in Essex, MA. Instead we had to meet the driver off the highway about 2 miles from its destination, and the car was supposed to arrive Friday July 27. It did not arrive until Tuesday July 31st.
3. When we tried to contact VIP Transport (several calls, several e-mails) we had difficulty getting through. We were quoted a sum of $937, but when all was said and done, we were charged an extra 100$. When we questioned them about it, they said that was their "policy" and when we hinted that we might stop payment on the extra $100 with our credit card, the sales manager threatened to use our credit card and charge us more!
4. We were told to have a cashiers check made out on the arrival of our vehicle to pay the balance of what was owed. However, the driver called us the day before and said he needed cash, not a check. This was also inconvenient and not what we agreed to.
Please, consider this rude and sub par service before using VIP Auto transport. I just found my3cents and wish I had found it before we moved!
