Williams Chevrolet Honda Complaint - Swindling Auto Dealership

Review by Hugger on 2007-08-28
TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN -- Williams Chevrolet Honda in Traverse City, Michigan promised us a chrome grill and bumper would be put on the pickup truck we were purchasing. We waited two weeks for this to be done and when they delivered the vehicle. When the truck was delivered, it did not have the correct replacements made. When we inquired about the incorrect parts being changed, we were told that if we did not like the one on it they would change them for us, and we should just sign the contract and they would arrange to make the swap. (unfortunately we believed them) Now when the change has not been made, they say that we cannot get out of the contract and we are stuck with a truck that is not what we wanted and the dealership will not make the changes that we originally requested.

Anyone considering doing business with this company should certainly watch what they sign and be sure that they get everything that you request BEFORE signing anything.

Small Claims Court?

Ken, possibly. The poster may get some relief from the courts if they can make the salesperson slip up while testifying otherwise without any written proof they are gonna be "up the creek". First try to contact the general manager and explain the situation, sometimes these situations can be resolved without legal matters. Good Luck

I must agree with DD and here is a good place to start:

Williams is Horrible! My wife went in to look at a car here, the car that had been advertised for the sale starting that day, had been sold three days earlier. It was a big run around with sales guys, sales managers, and the Used car manager barraging her with deals, and specials. When I showed up an hour later and asked them to cut the high pressure sales tactics, the sales guy got nasty. He turned around and squared up like he wanted to fight, as we followed him in to the office. When I laughed at him pushed past him and went to talk to the manager about the guys behavior, he laughed it off and went back to talking about the vehicle. I told him what I thought of his dealership and we made our purchase elsewhere. I have never heard anybody say what a great deal they got, or what great service they got from Williams of Traverse City. A horrible place to buy a car.
