Dentist Informative - A follow up to lead review

Lead is bad enough but an even worst one is mercury. When the big move to phase out lead was going on some other things came to light.

Lead based solder was replaced by silver solder, which contained mercury, and to top it off when you solder the mercury was changed into a gaseous from. Then inhaled by the people doing the soldering and it was kind of like “who knew?”

The answer came, the dentist knew. A dentist in New York wrote and article no the danger of using silver solder to put the filling in your mouth. At the time many people were being diagnosed with many different sicknesses include MS; some were told they were going to die and nothing could be done.

I saw this on 60 minutes and one woman in particular was walking on crutches when she went into her doctor’s office for the results of her test. The doctor told her she would probably not make it more then a week or two.

Out of desperation she and her husband when to a conference on just this issue of silver solder.

She went to her dentist and had her filling’s removed three weeks later she went back to her doctor who had told her that it was all BS and had nothing to do with her sickness. She went in to his office on crutches, look at him and then threw her crutches at him.

There were thousands of other people with stories of having many things wrong with them and they got there filling taken out and they too got well.

The Dentist that started this was telling his patients to come in and get the fillings out. He was doing his best to spread the word to the rest of the world as well.

The New York Dentist Commission (or what ever you call them)immediately said it was a lie. They went on to say that if this dentist did not stop talking about it or recommending people to get these fillings out of there head he would be disbarred and sewed.

Almost all Silver solder no longer has mercury in it and 99% of the fillings that are put in your head no longer use silver solder containing mercury.

If you have old fillings that you think might, get them replaced, I did and it does make a difference.

Read about silver solder, mercury and other hazardous materials.

After reading this informative article, written by Lidman, I thought twice about my fillings that I had in the mid-1980's when I was young. I am fine now but I wonder whats in my fillings? I shall make an appointment with my dentist in the near future with regards to the fillings in my mouth.

MRM it can't hurt to check it out, I can't remember dates anymore but I do believe this was in the late 80's when this came out.

I will raise the question with my dentist on my next appointment which is in the beginning of September.

MRM, I found a good place to start, finally!

A few examples:

An often overlooked, but extremely important source of toxic material is the mercury from silver [mercury] amalgam fillings. Some people who are aware of the situation are confused by the mixture of information available. Unfortunately, statements from dental trade organizations and on a few poorly-researched news reports have muddled the situation.

Here are a few facts about mercury amalgam fillings:
1. Causes Damage to Brain in Children
In February, 1998, a group of the world's top mercury researchers announced that mercury from amalgam fillings can permanently damage the brain, kidneys, and immune system of children.
2. Amalgam Fillings Linked to Neurological Problems, Gastrointestinal Problems
The first large-scale epidemiological study of mercury and adverse reactions was recently completed and showed that of the symptoms looked at, there was a link seen to gastrointestinal problems, sleep disturbances, concentration problems, memory disturbances, lack of initiative, restlessness, bleeding gums and other mouth disorders.

I am one of the few fortunate ones that has not needed a filling. But most of my family does have them so I will pass this on to them.

I personally don't have any silver fillings anymore, but I expect many others still do. All one can do is go by the recommended procedure at the time and I suppose hope for the best. This is the first I've heard of this. Good information for others to pass on.

Good post Lid's, as I get older my fillings from my teens are cracking and I'm getting them replaced with non silver materials. May be saving my life?

The same principle applies to dental X-rays. X-rays can cause cancer.

What about canned tuna. Do you have any idea how much mercury are in them?

Dateline NBC did a story on tuna and mercury.
