Sears Automotive Complaint - Bad product and service
CAPITOLA, CALIFORNIA -- I always applaud good service, so this is the other side of the coin. After purchasing 4 tires and an extended service contract, and after three very time consuming follow-up visits to (unsuccessfully) determine the source of subsequent front end shaking, my local (and reliable) tire store found (in five minutes) that I'd been sold 2 tires out of round - 2 defective tires = which, in addition, had been incorrectly balanced. The tires were replaced by Sears without charge and reimbursing me for the charge of the local tire dealer...but the waste of time and lack of basic knowledge by the mechanics was astonishing.
On a return visit to have my tires rotated (free, because of the extended service contract), I requested a brake check, which was written on the work order. No brake check was done.
Do yourself a favor. Buy your tires and service from a local and reliable dealer. Sears has national advertising and hype, but they don't deliver. And you'll waste much more in time and money shopping with them.
