Americas Service Station Complaint - Inept Mechanics - Mechanics not able to diagnosis

Review by TOTAL MECHANIC INEPTITUDE on 2007-08-31
ACWORTH, GEORGIA -- Car overheated and was told I needed bypass hose, radiator flushed and new thermostat and car was good to go. Paid $477 and left shop. Car overheated within 2 miles. Now again needed new thermostat and radiator flushed. They said they re-did this but car still running hot. They suggested I had a blown head gasket or cracked block. They would be glad to take my car apart and repair this. Could run into several thousand. When asked if anything else could be causing the problem was told NO. Told them not to touch my car. Towed it to the Nisson dealership where they promptly told me I had a mal-functioning cooling fan. Head gaskets fine, engine fine, and car back to running like new. My car left America's Service Station on Mars Hill Road in Acworth overheating with a clogged radiator and thermostat in need of replacement.JUST LIKE WHEN I DROVE IN.

The only difference is A $21.75 bypass hose had been replaced for $477.05.
Had I driven off again it too would have blown.

Owner refused to acknowledge that he had cost me any extra expense. Sorry he couldn't help me. UNBELIEVABLE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY CLEAR OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT. TOTALLY INEPT!

Maybe he got his mechanics training from Everest Institute.

If you paid with a credit card you have a valid argument for a chargeback & refund based on lack of service. Check with your cc issuer
