Kroger/Fred Meyer Compliment - Local School Supply Drive

Review by 39744 on 2007-09-03
Yesterday, my daughter and I went to Fred Meyer to pick up some school supplies for our area school supply drive. As we were checking out, I asked the cashier if she would bag these items separately so we could drop them off on our way home. The store manager happened to be standing nearby and overheard our conversation and came over and told the cashier to take 15% off of everything we had gotten for the supply drive, thanked me for supporting our schools and buying supplies from Fred Meyer and walked away before I could even respond.

It's certainly a rarity in today's lack of customer service to have an experience like this. I sent an email to Kroger headquarters expressing my appreciation and gratitude for this person, hopefully they get some much deserved recognition for their generosity.

Try to get the contact number for the regional office. Then send a letter plus a copy to the store manager. It will get more attention than an email. Good work should always be rewarded as well as your donation to the school drive.

Thank you for passing this on. Great to hear something nice about Fred Meyer. I do like their stores--and it's too bad they are only available in the NW. They are superior to Target and Walmart.
