Costco Wholesale Complaint - Fraudulent Return Policy

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA -- What person really believes that returning expensive furniture 2 years old or trashed previously bought TVs bought before the 90 day returns on electronics is fair!!??And why would any self respecting customer dare shop at a store that allows fraudulent repeat (customers) to bring back most merchandise forever without even a receipt. Their prices are more than Sams Club because of their return policy.I say if something does not work with a few days fine bring it back , but please do not abuse the American economy...We AMERICANS all pay even if we do not shop[ at Costco because of their return policy. There should be federal regulation that disallows anyone from brining back any items after say a 30 days period. Costco needs to be fair and not hurt our ailing economy by changing their return policy...and I bet a lot of those return kings would disappear and Costco would be the better for it...

But do they have the balls to do it .I wonder. And yes, I am a non fraudelrnt Costco Customer & a major investor.

As a former Costco employee I think the policy is fair that’s why we have so many loyal customers that come back to our store. Its there decision to make not yours how they run there company.

No doubt Costco will change their return policy when/if they deem it necessary to do so.

Your subject title indicates that COSTCOs return policy is fraudulent but your complaint is about customers who abuse the policy. I quite agree the return policies be stricter to prevent those take advantage. Since you say you are a major investor why not voice your complaint to the board?

Yeah, that's what we need, more federal laws governing return of items at a retail store. Brililant idea!

I am a fan of Costco because they treat their customers and employees well. I'm pretty sure that most of the customer base does not return old items at whim. It's refreshing to see a store stand behind their products for a change. Sam's Club does not even compare to Costco. I have never had to return any big purchase items to Costco, but it's nice to have that option if something goes wrong sooner than it should.

I don't understand this one either. Sam's club does the same thing and this person is promoting them over Costco. I know of a Sam's club that took a TV back after over 2 years! It was due to a very poor extended warranty company that would not help the customer so Sam's stepped up and helped the customer. Which is exactly what Costco does, they help the members 100%.

No company can prevent all fraudulent returns.
