Northwest Airlines Complaint - Rudest People Ever!!!

Complaint
Review by bellapug02 on 2007-09-05
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- I wrote this complaint on Aug. 13,2007 - I've re-sent it 3 times. No one has responded. I've heard nothing! Not only are they horrible- but the people in charge could care less!!!! I usually fly Delta- I suggest everyone do the same!

I just want to let you know that this was my first and LAST experience I will EVER have with Northwest airlines. I usually fly Delta and this time I let my fiance make the reservations and i will not ever make that mistake again. My problems began in Memphis with the man at check-in, I do not know his name- but he was a Caucasian man with a mustache-gray hair and a northern accent. He was extremely rude. We were two minutes past the time we were supposed to be there to check in, which was our fault, yes- but there was really no need for his attitude. He told us we could not "roll in there that soon before our flight and expect to make it" he said, very sarcastically, "good luck getting past security with your bags"- he was extremely unpleasant and frankly put a huge negative cloud on the rest of our day.

hen we got to security and the people working security were yelling at everyone like we were herds of cattle- which also- was completely unnecessary. We are adults and deserve to be talked to calmly as human beings. Then on our flight to Denver, one of our stewardesses was completely rude- I saw her be really rude to a little girl and I almost said something to her because the little girl looked like she was scared to death. Then at the Denver airport, once again, everyone from Northwest was rude as they could be. We were told we "needed to hustle" by a check in person, then one of the guest service guys got in my face and yelled at me- which I have an entire separate e-mail address to write about him- and a security guard who witnessed to the whole thing and gave me her name and number. I cannot believe the way your employees treat people- its amazing anyone flies Northwest.

When I fly with Delta- everyone smiles and says Thank You- they give you crackers and peanuts during your flight-I understand that Northwest is cheaper than Delta, I just didn't know why until the past three days. It really is true- you get what you pay for and personally- I would pay NOT to have to deal with this rude awful airline ever again. You should really teach these people not only how to talk to people, but how to smile- or better yet, just go sit in on one Delta flight- your staff could learn a lot.

I will also be writing about this on several websites just so people understand what they are getting into before they waste their money to be treated like dirt.

Northwest has had a poor record of customer service for a long time already. Northern accent? Last week there was a complaint about an East Coast accent.

bellapug02 what does the man's race have to do with the price of tea in China? Stick to the facts sans the racial profiling. Racial profiling is very politically incorrect.

bellapug02 you did make a great observation - "yelling at everyone like we were herds of cattle". When I fly I always feel like a cow being herded. I find a handful of xanax washed down with a couple shots of gin eases that feeling.

Hey when you were in Denver did you happen to see large prides of lions roaming the streets? Anyway, despite your racial undertones I'm still going to vote your review 'Very Helpful'. Good job bellapug02!

Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about this morning – the victim feminism, the gay rights movement, the invented statistics, the rewritten history, the lies, the demands, all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.

If we look at it analytically, if we look at it historically, we quickly find out exactly what it is. Political Correctness is cultural Marxism. It is Marxism translated from economic into cultural terms. It is an effort that goes back not to the 1960s and the hippies and the peace movement, but back to World War I. If we compare the basic tenets of Political Correctness with classical Marxism the parallels are very obvious.

bellapug02, don't worry about what some Liberal says about Political Correctness just be your self and give it right back to them! Good job.....

bellapug--thank you for the post. Another airline to steer clear of when possible. There is never an excuse for rudeness. BTW--I didn't think you were racial profiling, just giving a description of the rude person you dealt with.

I don't like any airline anymore, I do not like Delta, I do not like NorthWest, I do not like green eggs and ham.

I am never leaving home again, God Bless America!!

I agree, you get what you pay for. I too experience much better service at Delta, and the people at Delta just seem more pleasant. While I've never had any major problems with NWA, I find their gate agents at the major hubs to be very rude.

I just want to clarify: I had someone on here say I was "racial profiling"- I guess what he did not read was that this is the exact letter I sent to Northwest- I was simply trying to describe, in the best detail I could, who I dealt with. I am a white woman- I'm not racist against caucasion men! I'm not racist against black men-or hispanic men-or anyone else! I truly did not mean to come across as racist- this is honestly the first time in my life I've ever been accused of being so, but like i said- it was only a description. If you read it- you see I am speaking to northwest-

bellapug02 I stand corrected. Please accept my most humble apology. You are right in that I did not comprehend this was the exact letter you sent to Northwest. We all have our AlleyS moments at times.

security has nothing to do with the airlines..it's the government.
you really lost me on your complaint when you brought up the caucasian thing.
The only people I've seen in Memphis that have had problems are people that are a problem.

in regards to jktshff1 ~ ONE MORE TIME... I AM CAUCASIAN.. IT WAS SIMPLY A DESCRIPTION. Its really sad when we cannot even mention what race a person is without being accused of being racist. I didn't say "that dumb white man" or "that ugly black guy"- and if I did- THAT WOULD STILL BE A DESCRIPTION NOT RACIAL PROFILING! And the security I had the biggest problem with was in DENVER and was hired by the AIRPORT. He worked for "Guest Services"- not for the government. I promise you I have my facts strait- I'm wondering if you are not a NW employee who is just a little bitter & trying to veer the attention away from the lack of quality this company offers by turning it around to make me look like some racist who was just having a bad day.

Never have worked for an airline. Don't like dealing with the public.
Not a problem, but bringing up "colors" automatically sets off alarms, I was not claiming you were racist. Matter of fact if someone asks for my description I tell them an old fat white guy.
Sounds like you had a bad experience from the get-go, gotta get to airports early nowadays.
