Garden City Nissan Complaint - Horrible sales staff

Review by NY Consumer on 2007-09-07
HEMPSTEAD, NEW YORK -- One two occasions within the last month my wife and I visited the dealership to lease an auto. The first salesman would not talk prices with me unless I gave him my Social Security number first so he could run a credit check on me, even though I was a previous customer coming out of a lease. When I refused a Manager came over and the both of them started high pressure sales tactics upsetting my wife causing us to walk out of dealership. Chalking this off as a one time bad experience, My wife and I went back on another occasion and went through the whole thing again with two other employees.

Used Advantage Nissan in Westbury and all went well!

Good info. THX.

I am glad to hear you did not conform to their standards. The reason they want your social security number is to have an idea which way to "guide" you...subprime or conventional.

He out right told me it was for a credit check to make sure who he was dealing with and that I was not wasting his TIME!

At least he was nice enough to tell you. I've seen posts here about people who are tricked into giving their social.
