Home Depot Informative - BUYER BEWARE! Design Expo - Paramus NJ
PARAMUS, NEW JERSEY -- Be forewarned, if you buy something at Design Expo, the store is not obligated to warranty the merchandise beyond 90 days. After 90 days, no matter what it is, you're out of luck!
Prior to this event I was a good customer and very loyal to Home Expo and Home Depot. This event has changed everything.
Sixteen months ago I purchased a bathroom vanity top and basin. Three weeks ago the basin separated from the top and came crashing down into the pipes below. My wife called the store and was told by two different store managers that this was not Design Expo's problem, this product is only warrantyd by the store for 90 days and that she needed to go to the manufacturer. She contacted the manufacturer but made little headway in resolving the matter. (In the meantime we are without a bathroom sink) I was traveling at the time so when I returned from my business trip, I went to the store and spoke to the store manager Mr. Carlos Perez, who supervises the department, was apologetic and indicated the store would honor its commitment and agreed to replace and install the vanity top and basin within the week. The following week, the plumbers who arrived to install the vanity top were unable to remove the faucet and could not complete the job. The store manager (Jose’) refused to replace the faucet. So once again we were without a bathroom sink, Since this was now going on the third week without a functional bathroom. Calling customer service got me absolutely nowhere. Needless to say, today we went to Lowes and bought a replacement vanity top, basin and faucets. That was the LAST TIME I SHOP AT HOME EXPO or HOME DEPOT.
