Washington Mutual Complaint - Home mortgage loan
Washington Mutual will not give me their e-mail address. We had a home loan and paid a sizeable check on the mtg. We called and requested a pay-off balance. WE WERE NOT TOLD ON THE PHONE TO SEND A CASHIER'S CHECK. We mailed a check in the pay-off amount, which was returned along with information stating that it had to be in the form of a cashier's check. I wrote a letter and received a response dated February 7, 2007 that we would receive a check for the additional interest charges that had accrued between the time of the personal check and cashier's check. I was told once by phone that the check would be received in June 2007. Since that time, I have spoken with several customer service reps and a supervisor and told that I would not be receiving a check for the overpayment of interest. This is just wrong. It was Washington Mutual's error and we are entitled to the overpayment.
