Firestone Store in Spanish Lake, Missouri Complaint - Flat tire service and oil change

SPANISH LAKE, MISSOURI -- In my humble opinion, the Firestone Store on Larimore Drive in Spanish Lake, Missouri should be called the "can't do" store. Here is why.

Two or three months ago, when the last service manager was in charge there, they refused to do an oil change on my Ford Windstar. The reason given was that it stood a great change of having the oil pan screw being stripped by their tools.

I took the vehicle to the Firestone in Fairview Heights, IL and they changed the oil without mentioning any problems.

This past weekend, I had a side-wall flat tire, and I managed to drive the same vehicle to the Firestone in Spanish Lake. The new lady manager told me that she was all booked up until closing time (about 3 hours away), and couldn't do my work.

I called the Firestone on West Florissant in Ferguson, Missouri. Took the vehicle there, and the duty manager came from behind the counter to change my flat tire.

I don't know what the ongoing problems are at the Spanish Lake Firestone. Maybe the new lady manager doesn't like to get her hands dirty. Maybe the former manager just doesn't like Windstars. What I do know is that this particular store seems to use the "can't do" language more than any store I've ever taken my business to.

It is time for Firestone to hire some secret shoppers to visit the stores which earn the most complaints.

Is it possible that they weren't lying? That they were actually booked up to the very last moment and perhaps they didn't have the necessary tools to change the oil for your car?
