Health club billing rip off - Complaint
CALIFORNIA -- My family of 4 were all members of 24 Hr Fitness for several years while living in Southern California. My husband & I moved away & were still billed for an additional couple months out of our checking account. One of my daughters accounts, however was taken from my account for as long as 1 year after we requested it to be stopped by phone, then in person, then through my bank. She then actually received a collection call from 24 Hr for past due payments due!!!!!She has been trying to find the correct person to address this and credit the situation but has gotten the run around. Every one claims they will handle it however it never has been corrected!
We will diligently try to collect for past payments made but would like to warn anyone considering joining - if you must go there DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL FROM YOUR CHECKING OR SAVINGS ACCOUNT!!!

So I'm not alone in this. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SITE. People have been through so much and they're sharing it with others.
I had the same thing happen with me, but it was through a car company. I leased a car, and I mailed in my payment on time as usual. And I put my account number in the memo space on my car payemnt check, as usual. All of a sudden, I started getting harrassing, condescending phone calls at my office. They said I didn't pay it. I mean the calls were NON-STOP.
Guess what happened? AFTER they received my car payment, someone in THEIR office SCRATCHED OUT MY ACCOUNT NUMBER from the memo space and put SOMEONE ELSE'S ACCOUNT NUMBER in its place, and applied MY payment to SOMEONE ELSE'S account.
There IS something you can do about this to make them pay attention to you, and to get this sorted ASAP. Let's chat. Please feel free to e-mail me at a22455@gmail.com
