Almco Plumbing Complaint - Be Wary - Nothing But A Phone Number

Review by Pioneer on 2007-09-12
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- "Almco Plumbing" in San Diego is nothing more than a phone number that will dump you off to whatever independent plumber they've scraped up that day. If something goes wrong, as it did with me, you can be sure that you won't see them again, as I have not. They didn't show for the first four hour "window" then two hours later someone did, didn't fix the problem, said to call back later. Then they didn't show for the second appointment to fix the problem they didn't fix the first time, said they won't come back, period. One "company" takes the calls, makes appointments, another takes that call and decides if it is worth showing up. Highly recommend you look elsewhere if you want to deal with a reputable - and real - plumbing service.

Update: I've sinced learned that they do this under two other names as well - "Aurora Appliance" and "Avalanche Mechanical". Same people answer the phone, take appointments, etc., just using whatever name ties to the phone number.

All three "companies" are basic bottom feeders - they take calls from home warranty companies, farm them out and decide which ones are worth the effort - but only after you've wasted time waiting for them, dealing with them if they do show up, etc.

If you are told to work with any of these three "companies" by your home warranty company, my recommendation is to ask for someone else.
