Fuji Complaint - Fuji Cameras are junk

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- The screen broke on my 5 week old Fuji F40fd digital camera. The camera was in a case in my bag when this happened. The case is in perfect condition and the camera was well padded when this occurred.

I figured that this was perhaps a manufacturing defect. So I sent this in for repairs under warranty.

I was told that Fuji considers all screen breaks the customer fault--there apparently is no such thing as a manufacturing or design defect for these cameras with respect to screens. Right.

If the camera is so delicate that it cannot be used under normal conditions by the consumer then this camera should not be sold!

So, Fuji is asking for $89 plus shipping costs. The way I figure is that there is no way I'm going to sink more money in a shoddy Fuji product.

Bottom line: Don't buy a Fuji product unless you don't plan on using it.

Same thing happened to me after 2 weeks and I returned to store (Wally World) where I EXCHANGED it for a Canon. I'm happy!
