Days Inn Complaint - BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- I made a reservation on 7/7/07 for a check in date of 7/22/07 at the Days Inn at Graceland. The next day, my husband and I decided to stop at Graceland on our way home from a road trip instead of on our way out. So, I went back on the website, and changed my dates of check in from 7/22 to 7/26/07. I never received any confirmation via email, just what the screen gave me when the reservation was complete. I printed it out and went on my marry way. When we got to Graceland on 7/26/07, we were told that not only did we not have a room, but that we had already been billed via credit card, for a failed check in for 7/22/07. I pulled out the paper showing that I had changed the dates and was told that they had no record of it and that i was out of luck. I called the 800 number and was told that the confirmation number would have stayed the same but that I should have gotten an emailed confirmation. When i told them I did not, they too said they had nothing from me. Here I am, with a sheet in my hand that said MODIFY DATES, with the same confirmation number as my original, and we are being told it isn't their problem they don't have the change. I could understand if I had nothing; but i had a printed out paper from their website showing i had changed the date. Is it my fault their website malfuntioned or somthing? Once I finally got home and checked all my email, and after a computer savy friend helped me, I found both my confirmation emails in my deleted spam folder. I was able to pull them up and print them out and I have sent them to both the facility in Memphis as well as the coporate. However, I doubt they will even to the honorable thing and refund me my $115.00. I will never stay at any Days Inn again. I would rather sleep buck naked in 150 below weather than step one freaking foot on a Days Inn property. I would never suggest or recomment them to anyone. Their business practices are despicable. They should be shut down.
