Panache One World Travel Complaint - Unsatisfactory compensation for inadequate apartment
COHASSET, MASSACHUSETTS -- Our family of 4 rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment for more than $800/night in Paris using Panache as our US contact. We didn't have hot water in the apartment for the entire length of our stay(6n, 7d).
The company paid for our use of a hotel room down the block and across the street so we could take showers. The company apparently thinks a Paris apartment is worth approx. $700/night because they offered us compensation of $100/night for the "inconvenience". We were not able to properly wash our clothes nor cook any meals because I don't like hand washing dishes, especially in cold water and especially while on vacation! We needed to do laundry as we were away from our home for almost 3 weeks (going to London afterwards.) We had to wear some clothes twice and be extra careful of the clothes we had. They offered to send our laundry out but we didn't want to take the chance that it wouldn't be returned before we left. We had to schedule our days around when we would take our showers. This ate up a chunk of our day with the 4 of us having to go to the hotel, one at a time. It's not fun washing your face at night and in the morning with ice cold water.
We will never use Panache again and I am trying to spread the word that even though you might think using a US company to rent overseas might minimize problems, it doesn't always work out.
