Memorex Complaint - Not working like they should

Review by mdh7341 on 2007-09-17
I recently purchased a 100 pack spindle of Memorex 16x DVD+R discs from Office Max. Unfortunately, when I tried to write to them, they only burn at 8x. If I try to burn them at 12x or 16x, my computer freezes, and I am unable to shut down the burning program. I have tried multiple discs on different burners, to no avail. I searched the web and it seems that others have had the same problem.

I e-mailed Memorex, and hope to hear from them soon.

It's very possible that your computer doesn't play well with Memorex. For example I have an HP and it can't use Maxell, Imation or TDK discs at the higher record speeds.

I have tried the discs on 3 computers, all different brands. All have the same problem. I've also tried different burning programs. It's the discs, not the computer.

I thought I was the only person experiencing problems with Memorex. I used to purchase their blank CDs, only to find that 30% of their dics would give me errors during the burn process. I switched to Office Depot CDs and DVDs and they work great!
