Vacaville Dodge Informative - If you want to pay more to get your car fixed...

Review by sellberg on 2007-09-17
VACAVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- ... take it to Vacaville Dodge. I took my 2002 Dodge Caravan there for a squeaky belt, a loose connection on my driver side door lock switch, and an air-bag light that was on. They charged me $120 to diagnose each of the three things separately, so that ended up costing $340 and they didn't fix a thing. I thought it was covered by an after market bumper-to-bumper warranty, so I wasn't too concerned about the initial estimate. I found out after the fact that it didn't cover diagnostic fees, so I was stuck with the costs to get my car back. If I had paid hundreds more they wanted to get everything fixed on top of the $340 diagnostic fee, the warranty would have paid $62 back. Guess I should have read the fine print!

Anyway - I checked with Fairfield Dodge and without mentioning anything about what happened at Vacaville Dodge, they gave me an estimate of $105 to diagnose all three problems instead of $360 at Vacaville Dodge. Go to Fairfield Dodge!
