Dallas Rental Car - St. Louis Complaint - Price Gauging @ Dollar Rental In St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- I am a consultant that travels and rents cars frequently. I rented a car from Dollar Rental at the airport in St. Louis for the day. I picked the car up September 10, 2007, at 10 AM and dropped it off at roughly 6 PM, traveling 228 miles total. Prior to returning the car, I FILLED it up like I always do. My mileage and gas were confirmed by a company rep and I was issued a receipt for $50.19. A week passes and I check my credit card statement and to my surprise I was charged $97.57.

To make a long story short. I was charged $47+ for a half a tank of gas. When I called to inquire the representative explain to me that I was charged because the tank was not refilled. I explain to her I have a receipt for $50.19 from that location and a credit card statement showing I purchased gas on that date in Bridgeton, Missouri. At this point she basically dismissed the receipt and told me there was noithing further to discuss.

After speaking with the manager, I found him to be non-receptive and uncaring to my situation.

I travel often and rent cars monthly, needless to say I will never rent from Dollar again.
