Amazon.com Complaint - Shipping deceit - Books
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I placed an order on September 13 for new books and a CD. I received an email on sept 19th (6 days later!) saying the items were delayed and would be shipped in two to three days. I should expect the order no later than October 5. WHAT!! And I could not cancel the order since it was in the "shipping process". When I called to ask about this, I was told that they did not have a tracking number, since technically it wasn't in a box yet. So it's not shipping, but it's in the "shipping process". That's bull. When I wrote an email, I received a condescending e-mail explaining that if I wasn't so cheap and had opted to pay for shipping, that it would not be so slow. Amazon should not sell things they do not have in stock, as I suspect happened to my order. There is no warehouse. I think they sell things they don't even have and then go fishing once you place your order and have your money. They call this the "shipping process".
Both customer service people tried to make me feel stupid for not paying for extra shipping. NEVER EVER BUY FROM AMAZON. They won't be able to deliver what they sell to you.
