Directv Inc Complaint - Directv - Lie, Cheat And Steal
I was a having problem with my DirecTV service. My box would go out every minute or so. I called and had a service guy check it out. He told me the box sent to me was flawed and I needed a different one. I called and they sent out a new one. However, they failed to tell me that if you order new equipment, they automatically add 2 YEARS to your agreement with them. Even though it is your faulty equipment. The agents all say we sent it to you at our expense. I have read over the customer agreement and there is no mention of this. It only said, if you ordered new equipment, I ordered replacement equipment.
I recently moved and wanted to transfer my service to the new location so I called mover's connection. They proceeded to tell me there would be a year commitment or a $199 fee, at which time I found out about the 2 year extension because I thought I only had 5 months left on my agreement. Ha! No, they told me I had to pay them 200 plus dollars in order to cancel or dispute the charges.
The morale of this story is, money was taken from my checking account that was not authorized; therefore causing severe overcharge payments. What gives DirecTV the right to take whatever card is listed on your account whether you are in a recurring billing mode or not as a final payment on your account. If that payment is being disputed.
I will tell everyone as I have already started, “DO NOT GO WITH THEM, THEY ARE HORRIBLE”. Their agents are the rudest, most unintelligent individuals I have ever dealt with. They will repeat the same thing over and over again as I am sure it is sitting in front of them. The best part is they will tell you that you are talking to a supervisor when in reality, you are not. They have no idea what they are talking about. I tried to explain to them over and over that is was not my fault you sent me faulty equipment to begin with, why should I be penalized for your poor equipment.
And finally, I contacted the office of the president and they were as worthless as their product. They do not help you and spout of the same lingo as the rest of their customer service people.
