Best Buy Informative - Refund policy - Nintendo wii
Yesterday I ordered a Nintendo wii at BestBuy.com. I received a confirmation stating that delivery would be made by 10/2/07. When I checked my order status today, it stated the item had been backordered (this was after all day yesterday them saying my order was "in the process of being filled"). I called customer service only to be told that they don't know when or if they will get any more in. I asked why I was able to order and receive a confirmation on something that they did not have and they basically said they did not know.
I cancelled my order and asked for a refund. I was told the money was not authorized to be "released" back into my bank account until 9/27. I spoke with supervisors about this and was told that's "just the way it is". Doesn't matter that they are keeping my money for a week on an order that they never planned to send me.
I called my bank and was told they could put the money back in my account today if Best Buy would just call them with the authorization. So, I called Best Buy again. Same song and dance. I was told they cannot make outgoing calls. Called the corporate offices and was told the same thing. Asked to speak to a supervisor again but, after holding for more than 20 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the line, I gave up.
Now, I have an opportunity to buy a wii at ToysRUs on Sunday but my money is tied up with Best Buy! I don't understand how they can flat out refuse to help the customer get their money back in a more timely manner. I will NEVER do business with them again.
It was bad enough that they took my money for something that they knew was sold out but to not give an immediate refund is absolutely ridiculous!
