Global Tel*Link Complaint - Pre-paid calls from Prisoners

DALLAS, TEXAS -- I have the unfortunate dilemma of having my son in jail. He has been transferred several times to several facilities. Until now, the phone system used has been a competitor of Global Tel*Link. In the past, I have never had a problem getting set up and/or pre-paying, all via their automated system.

My son was just moved to a facility that uses Global Tel*Link. For the last 2 days, I have had nothing but problems getting set up and or talking with their reps.

The automated system simply does not work and the "hold time" to speak to a rep was over 60 minutes.

When I finally spoke to a rep, he could not give me any details about how much calls would cost, but promptly charged me close to $10.00 for placing $50.00 on my account.

Then, I received an automated call from them suggesting I don't have an account set up yet.

What a sham of an operation!

Too bad we, as consumers, have no choice as to who we would want to use for calls.
