WESTMONT, IDAHO -- Car was puchaced in January of 2003, was in for service on 4/3/2003 for rough/drop in idle. Spoke with Service Advisor about adding an oil change if needed while car was in for service. Car was pickup on 4/6/2003. Oil change was completed and paid for Service Advisor found no other problems. Car was driven home and left in heated garage until started on 4/8.

I found a large pool of oil on garage floor @ 5:00pm when returning from work. My soon to be wife had taken the BMW Z3 to work and was still @ school.

I called and the Service Department was closed. I then Spoke with Patrick. This was one of the most unprofessional experiances in my life. He would not admit fault and said to try to contact my soon to be wife and have her crawl under the car to find the problem. He said to make another appointment with his service department, that is all he can offer me. He also added when the problem cause was found he would see what he could do about the price of a tech looking into the problem. I then realized he was not the right person to speak with. I asked for his direct report or a number where I could call to have this resolved he rplyed "I dont'd have a boss, I am not sure what you want me to do about it".

Once my soon to be wife got home I found that the drain plug was the source of the leak.

I have filed a complaint with BMW North American, but wanted to make you aware of this problem as well. ALso refering to my owners manual, this model of BMW needs oil changes every 10-15,000 miles. The last oil change done before it was brought in to service was less than 2000 miles ago.

Desired Settlement: Other (requires explanation)
Settlement Explanation:
I am not looking for a refund, but would hope that something can be done to ensure this does not happen to others.

My BMW is also serviced every 10-15,000 miles as reccomended in the owner manuel. I just use the digital reminder that keeps you informed how many more mile til next service. Unlike your experience, I am a very satisfied with BMW Of Macon, Georgia.

I had a similar experience happen with a 2005 Nissan Maxima that we noticed was leaking oil after a Friday afternoon oil change (getting it ready for the weekend travels). Called the dealership after 5 pm, all mechanics gone, but they gave me the Service Managers' cell number. Called him, he had the tow truck come get it, changed the oil, washed the car, and it was back under my garage in less than 2 hours. This one experience made me go back for another Maxima, but we just couldn't put the deal together. By the way, our BMW dealership comes and gets our car for routine maintenance and brings it back serviced AND clean!*****
