Stethoscopes.com Complaint - Undelivered product; money stolen

Review by nmi on 2007-09-25
MERCER ISLAND, WASHINGTON -- Stethoscopes.com promises delivery, they take your money, send you an item you did not order or want that does not work. 5 months later they have my money and I have no product. The company and its site is a total ripoff. I urge any consumer seeking medical equipment to pass by Stethescopes.com when searching the net to purchase medical equipment.

They will steal your money and give you nothing but empty promises in return.

That sucks, sorry to hear about that. Mail order companies like this give all of them a black eye. There was a post similar to your problem on www.allnurses.com awhile back, but I'm not sure if it was for this company or some other one. That poster eventually did get the right item. Good luck.

I've never bought medical equipment online. I prefer to actually try the product, before buying it.

Thanks for the heads up on this company, though!

I am with you, emt. When I was an active EMT and wanted to stock my crash kit, or now that I require some durable medical equipment, I deal with a local company called RTA Home Care. They are part of an umbrella company that also consists of RTA Hospice. I would never order any medical gear online. RTA has always treated me right, and if I needed something special, they went out of their way to get it for me.
