DirecTV, Inc. Informative - DirecTV contract abuse

Review by parrotmom on 2007-09-26
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA -- Wanted a satellite receiver in my motor home. DirecTV (DTV) said they wouldn't install the receiver, I had to. So I did just before a long trip. Never could get the antenna to tune in less than three hours. When I got back I called to cancel the service and was told that I was liable for "contract" damages. I signed no contract (usually done by the installer), nor was I told or any contract. I was told that the equipment was leased (theirs). DTV incurred no cost for installation.

DTV won't budge on the damages and neither will I. Not tell me of the "contract" is fraud in the inducement. Saying that it's a verbal contract which they can't prove even though their calls are recorded is also fraud.

Google DirecTV/class action suits for an eyeful of what a bad, crooked company this is—650,000 hits!
