Centurytel Complaint - The worst service & intra-company communications ever!
MENTONE, ALABAMA -- After suffering through a long list of relatively basic phone amenities that were "not available in your area" (I MEAN - I JUST got call waiting/caller ID; forget high speed internet) shortly before thankfully moving out of Centurytel's range) and a loud hum on the line that I was advised to learn to live with, this company has delivered its final blow POST my departure! I had requesting that my newly disconnected line have a forwarding number put on it. I was assured this would be done. A few weeks later I began hearing from people who couldn't find me - no forwarding number on the old line. I called Centurytel, made the request again (now 3 weeks later) & was again assured that it would be in effect with 24 hrs. When this was not the case, I called again & was told it would be taken care of FOR SURE this time. I just received a call from a CT supervisor who informed me that this very basic service is not available in my area! I am so angry - I could have sent out notices to friends & associates had I known they would be unable to get my new number from the disconnect message. This kind of 'one hand not knowing there is another hand' service typifies my entire experience with these people.
Steer clear of them if at all possible or be prepared for unlimited frustration & aggravation.
