VOIP Informative - Poor service - VOIP telephone service

Review by Andrewc on 2007-09-27
MEDIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- The provided service had major issues:

- The answering system practically did not work. Setting the system was very hard; we could not understand the automated voice instructions. The voice was broken up, garbling. Many calls were not transferred to the answering system.

- Many times the incoming calls were not connected. I made many test calls from my cell phone and they did not go through.

- Often time the quality of the connection was poor. It was hart to understand the person from the other side.

Also, they want to charge me $39.95 cancellation fee which was not mentioned to me at the time I placed the order. They are probably mentioned in the agreement, but agreements are many pages long.

VOIP is the technology. What is the company name?

OP could be speaking of http://www.voip.com? They have been around for some time now. We use Cox VOIP and it works great for us. Tried Vonage and it turned out to be nothing as advertised. You just have to find one that works for you.

Much like sms message texting, where you reduce the number of letters to it's absolute minimum. "VOIP SPEAK" requires the same reduction as well. For example, "Honey, when you get time , can you stop by the store and buy a big fat ham? on a bad voip connection, the message would come through as "Honey, you big fat ham" due to the word loss of the bad connection. With voip speak, you would say "Go store buy ham" That gives voip technology much less of a chance to mess up your conversation...problem solved!
