Verizon Informative - "New Every Two"
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Recently my Verizon cell phone took a crap. This seems to happen near the end of my 2 year agreement with every phone I've had from Verizon in the past 6 years. The most recent being my Motorola E-815. I haven't treated my phone poorly or dropped it (much). For some odd reason my phone has an error message that says "Bootloader USB Init". I called Verizon's tech support and they told me that I have to purchase a new phone because this one is out of warranty. Apparently they know about the error message but they do not fix it. The biggest problem I have is with Verizon's "New Every Two" policy. I am up for a new phone 2 months before my contract is up every two years. Which means I either go 2 months without a phone, buy a new one for retail price (which is some astronomical price for a junk phone), or renew my contract for 2 years which is not something I planned on doing.
Why does this happen to me every 2 years before my contract is up. Is Verizon sending something to ruin your phone so you either renew your plan or live without cell service until your contract is up and you are free to go elsewhere? Has anyone else experienced this?
