Westchester BMW Complaint - Complaint about car repair service

WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK -- I brought my 525iT to the dealer to have a indicator light replaced. The dealer told me I had to leave the car and that the whole light assemble had to be removed to get to the indicator light. I thought he was joking, the "ultimate driving machine"? He was not joking and explained it was a design error.

The light bulb was replaced at a cost of $145.!! (Later reduced to $82 as a "courtesy". I complained to the BMW Customer Relations Department and to the Westchester BMW Service Manager, requesting a refund of the difference between the normal cost of replacing a light bulb and the $82 I paid.

Result: A thank you for my "feedback" from Customer Relations and no response from the Service Manager.

Can you learn how to do it yourself. I change the bulbs in my Volvo whenever needed. Yes, I'm a woman.

Unfortunately that is not possible with the BMW front indicator light because of a design screw-up it is not accessible.

Wow, you drive a BMW and complain about parts/service…Yes, I drive BMW too. Two of them (04 M3 and 06 330i).
